Is Nikon raising the prices on their lenses?
A store clerk told me that as of the new year Nikon will be raising their lens prices by around 10%. Has anyone heard anything about this? I'm suspicious that they may be trying to unload their inventory or something.

It's not that they are going to (although they may) but they did. Because the vast majority of lenses are made in Japan prices can change and often do based on the strength of the Japanese yen vs. the US dollar. The dollar has been low for quite a while now and the yen rebounded a bit last year resluting in a slight price hike.
I've heard nothing of it going up again however.
