2005 Ford Escape that "hisses" like a snake?

have a 2005 Ford Escape. It makes a hissing sound from behind the steering column that stops when the brakes are hit. It sounds more kind of like air being blown and stops almost immediately after the brakes are pressed. Does anybody have a clue about this before I go to my local Ford Dealer to get ripped off?

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak, most likely at your brake booster. Regardless of where it is, it is definitely a vacuum leak. Just to make sure, get a propane torch and open the valve (dont light it!) and spray the propane around where the hissing sound is. If the engine revs up, you've found the leak.

gotta leak in the line at brake booster/never had a problem at the dealer/just tell them that you want a diagnosis and then an estimate on repairs/be calm and just dont talk much/they dont know what you know until you start talking/also if they want to do extras tell them i want to see what this is and then we will talk/if they try to sell maintenance dont complain thats what they do/////
