Pet stores that buy pets?
I have 2 pet parakeets that sadly i hate! i really just hate all birds but obviously my ex boyfriend thought they would make a good present for some unknown reason. lol. anyway my friend said that some pet stores will actually buy some types of animals from people. i was wondering if anyone could help me in finding out if this is true for one ... and secondly which stores to go about trying this with...
thank you.

Yes some pet stores will do this. When I was a little girl my parents bought a cockatiel that we had for a couple years. It was mean and it screamed all the time so we took it to a pet store and traded him for a guinea pig.

Depends some will most major stores won't. I know Petsmart won't but I'm not sure about Petco. Try calling around. Family run store are probably your best bet.

I doubt you will find a pet store that would buy them, I would contact your local vet and say you are looking for a home for you birds, my vet is constantly placing all sorts of animals in new homes.

Nope, not really.
Non-chain stores....I think it depends. I think a majority of the time it's no.
Chain stores won't, and a good thing, too. The animals are often kept in too small spaces, with too many in them sometimes. They don't get good perches, and the food isn't that great either.
Give them away to the Humane Society.....
Or, if you live near me, I'll take them in. ;)

Some do however they will only pay a fraction of what ur ex boyfriend payed. i would recomend selling it to another home you get more money but most importantly the birds will be loved and properlly cared for! good luck

honestly. give them to the humane society if you really don't want them. pet stores often treat animals very poorly, and your birds would probably be dead before anyone bought them. please, do the right thing, and hand them over to the humane society in your area.
