Has anyone got an ID Card yet and travelled to the EU with it?
My Passport is due for renewal as I am going to Switzerland in April, and I am considering getting an ID card in place of a new passport as it is less than half the price and seems more convenient. I am however a little unsure of them, I have only heard of one case of it being refused as a passport but I haven't heard any real life cases of it being used freely either. I'm just having worries of this new thing and getting stuck in Zürich airport. Anyone used one so far?

If you are travelling to Switzerland (or any other country) as a foreigner, you need a passport.
There is no way around it. Passport or no trip to Switzerland (or any other country).

I got one last year but, I was unaware that I can travel to Europe with it? I thought it was only within USA. As far as I know, you must have your passport as it will need to be stamped. You should look into it but I think it's only for USA.
