If it's warm where you are,it could be an insect or spider bite,or even a snake bite. You should call a vet.If you are in the U.S.,you can give Benadryl,1 mg per lb of body weight. If you're in a different country,Benadryl may have different ingredients and may not be safe for the dog. If it might be a snake bite, you need to get to a vet fast.

If it's getting bigger call your vet, don't sit here and wait for an answer to make it all better. Get some ice on it to see if the swelling decreases, and if you don't want to pay the emergency fee for taking her this late at night, be prepared to stay up, because if she has a reaction to it, she could die without someone watching her. Chances are it's nothing but a bite, and the vet might give you an antihistamine or something, but better safe than sorry.

it may be a bug bite. it happened to my dog while we were in Florida, and he was bit by a spider. it swelled up his nose and then he began rubbing it, and it burst, he was a mess for weeks. I took him to the vet and they give him a shot, some pills and antibiotics to give him for several weeks until it went away.

It sounds like a run in with a bug bite. I'd watch it and if it starts to puss or ooze, see the vet.

I agree, she may have banged it on something.
She may also have been stung by something. Keep an eye on it because if it is a sting, she could have an allergic reaction that could interfere with her breathing.
