No because the only reason they are your step family is because of a marriage. If that marriage is ended I believe that would end any other sort of relative thingy going on. . . I guess she could be your ex step mom like she's your dad's ex wife?

Well, legally speaking it depends on if she adopted you or not. Emotionally speaking it depends on your bond. Talk to her about it. Tell her how you feel, if you want to remain close, please don't let the divorce happen without saying so.

If they have been married for a while, she's not going to stop feeling like your step-mom and she's not going to stop caring for you as her child. You can maintain that bond. It would be in your best interest to state that intention to your dad, too.

I had an aunt I was close to when I was growing up. After my uncle divorce her (bitterly) I didn't hear from her for years, but now I'm a grown woman we have a relationship and I feel that that time was wasted. I wish I had stood up for myself and our relationship. She really couldn't have from her position, but she missed me, too.

Divorce is tough and it forces you to take some very grown up roles. I wish you the best.

Nope, it's the marriage that make them step-whatever.
