Why are so many freestyle skiers abandoning their poles?

Every time I hit the terrain parks (such as yesterday at Mt. Snow) I see less and less skiers using poles. Why is this? Is there a benefit to it?

I've skied both ways and i personally like having poles for certain tricks, and not for others. Yes its benefitial to not have poles when you do grabs but in the air i believe my poles give me a sort of stability. However when i do rails its MUCH EASIER to just have my skis and no poles.

i think it helps with grabs and stuff. and you also don't have to worry about getting all tangled up with them personally i think its kinda weird so i still use my poles in the park.
