How many of you have seen Avatar and didn't like it?
I don't think I will get many people who won't like it.
This is an epic movie along the lines of star wars.

well i liked it A LOT but i think people are overrating it, like they did with dark knight.
the visuals make this a theater must see! but the story line and plot itself is something that isn't just unoriginal nad predictable. but it also seems a bit stupid given that it takes place in the future where first contact has already been established.
SPOILERS!!!
well for one now i can talk in more detail, the entire plot of "dances with wolves" worked because at the time it took place racism and the outlook of native americans or Indians/savages was a real issue at the time. however in the film Avatar, the company drops billions of dollars on the Avatar program to induce a 'peaceful' resolution. however they simply ignore any findings that the scientist discover regarding the people or the 'real value of the planet'. keep in mind this is hundreds of years after the examples of native american genocides, so the consequences and warnings are starring them in the face (like history was forgotten in this movie).
that's the biggest problem i had with the movie, just the theme of the story. but there were a few more nit-picks i had with it.
well in the ending they made the military retreat, however if "unobtainum" (unoriginal name if you ask me, aslo why was it so valueable?) was worth so much, then naturally a full scaled invasion would be worth the unumaginable revenue that it would represent? (the enitire ending i was saying to myself "there just going to come back.")
also the time frame of the protagonist and the heroin meeting and falling in love that quickly seemed a bit rushed (maybe a year of time but only a few weeks?)
Once again the whole acceptance from the tribe seemed unuasaually quick, for the time he spent with them (he likes to sleep in apearantly)
the value and the worth of the rock bothered me a bit as i had no clue if it was a necesity like fuel, manufacturing weapones, indistructable alloy? what was it!
still thats nothing too important to complain about, just nit-picking.
overall it was visually a masterpiece and although the story a bit cliche it was well done, (even though i knew what was going to happen i still wanted to see it unfold threw out the 3 hour movie unlike dark knight were i just wanted it to end or at least save it for the next film)
give it an acadamy for special effects but district 9, and even sherlock holmes had a way better story, so beyond effects Avatar should not win anything else.
well thanks for listening to my rant :P
