Cell Phone in Washing Machine?

I accidentally put my cell phone into the washing machine and so I let it dry for about a week. It turns on, but the vibrate kept on going when I put the battery in and it said that it couldn't find the smartchip. What should I do?

one of my sons drop his in a salt water rock pool but had it replaced under insurance next one dropped in the toilet (ooohh) and i walked backward off a pier into a saltwater harbour but got another on household contents insurance along with shoes, handbag, glasses (which came off) watch etc..

    result, 3 new phones.

the saltwater ones would have been in worse condition (and probably beyond redemption) than the fresh water ones so there might be some hope. try contacting the phone company or similar and see if there is anything that can be done.

i reckon cell phones have a mind of their own and are sneaky critters.

All phones usually have a warranty on em when you first buy em.

So , take it to an At&t store , and ask them if they can fix it for you. If not you might have to get a new phone.

If you didn't turn it off before you let it dry, it may have fried it. You might need to get a new phone.

Either get it repaired or buy a cheap prepay phone (same provider) and put your own chip in it

  • take out the batteries and everything. Put it in some uncooked rice for about a week! It realllyyyyyy works, No joke.

You will have to buy a new phone.

the others are right, it's pretty much fried the hardware in your cellphone.

    sorry.
