Windows 7 and the TV?

I've seen the commercial hype about getting the TV to work with the computer. I've used S-Video to view Hulu etc. with previous Windows versions. Is there any real difference from what I've done and what they are marketing? Also, is there a wireless way to connect them? Really interested if there is a better way of doing this. I rely on internet TV and Netflix as I live in the sticks and too cheap to have satellite.

not really. windows 7 has this program called "windows media center" in order to take advantage of this program, you'd have to buy a tv tuner for your laptop or desktop.

the media center can stream tv shows from your tv (of course this would not be a benefit if you don't have cable tv). it also has option like tivo.

most newer laptop also has hdmi port so you can plug in one cable from your pc to tv and get both sound and video from pc to tv.

If you want to stream video to the TV set wirelessly, look at a store like Radio Shack. They may have an HDMI adapter that will do what you want.
