Always having dreams about dangerous stairs/escalators?
One of my most disturbing types of dreams is about dangerous stairs (usually) but I have dreamt of escalators too. One example was that I was in a large, tall building that was a lot like a High School and a lot of people I knew from school were there too... and there was some sort of danger so we all had to go all the way up to the top of the stairs... It was okay at first and then the stairs start to get weird... The railings go away as we get higher, the stairs get higher and farther apart... and then all the way at the top, I have to like jump over this crevice between the stairs and the room which is like 10 stories I have below me.
I seem to dream about buildings like that a lot, and sometimes the stairs aren't dangerous, but just confusing.. Like I'll have to get to a certain room, but I can't just go straight down the stairs.. I have to go down one flight and wander around and find a different staircase and go upstairs like it's a huge maze.
I just hate the stair dreams though because most of the time is spent crawling up the stairs in fear like 10 stories high losing my balance with no railings...
I had a dream about an escalator last night... the escalator was also really high and had no railings. In the middle it sort of almost intersected another escalator so I had to lay down or else I would die by getting squished between the stairs of the two escalators...
The first dream I ever remember having with this theme I was going down the stairs to my grandparents' basement and they suddenly got wheels and a motor and disconnected and started rolling around the basement really fast.
I think I should mention that in the real world, I am not afraid of heights and I do not go up a lot of stairs on a regular basis. I have 2 sets in my house and I only use 1 regularly but have never dreamt of those stairs.
What would be causing these dreams?
So dreaming I'm scared to death walking up dangerous stairs could mean that I fear success???

Hi, here are the symbols that I see.
Stairs, escalators, mountains or elevators..you always want to find yourself going up them, it's progression on the next level of life.
The tall building is something in your life that you have built. Could even symbolize yourself. High aspirations. The sky's the limit.
School means it's time to learn a lesson or educate yourself on certain matters. You may be feeling tested or that you need to pass a particular situation with flying colors. Do you have a fear of failure?
Old buildings is old, out of date attitudes. An old soul. You may be feeling tired and run down.
Basement is the place where you store memories, attitudes, behaviors, etc. that you would like to forget about, that you keep below the surface. Can sometimes symbolize the past.

Dreams are an interpretation of information download so if things have happened that have scared you then it will come out there. Try this, next time you are in a dream and having that awful feeling of dread creeping up your back and neck, think 'this is a dream'; after a few times this will enable you to stop nasty stuff and look for good stuff or if need be invent it. If you have seen the Potter movie where they have this thing in a closet that makes you think of whatever scares you most, then use the same technique in your dream to change by laughter awful things into; mince pies or bananas or whatever takes you fancy. You might well find you get good at this and control your dreams so enjoy the freedom that gives and fly if you want to.

To dream that you are walking up a flight of stairs, indicates that you are achieving a higher level of understanding. You are making progress into your spiritual/emotional/material journey. If you dream that you are walking down a flight of stairs, signifies that you will face many setback in your endeavors. When see spiral or winding stairs, signify growth and/or rebirth.
