Spanish correction? (In English too, in case that could help)?

I'm trying to be sure that the following makes sense, and that the proper grammar tenses are being used.

After doing several years of stand up comedy, George was approached by actress Sandra Bullock, who wanted Lopez to produce and star in a comedy that featured Hispanics without being exclusively about the Hispanic American community. The network ABC, had been criticized by Hispanic American groups for a lack of Latinos on their television shows, and so ABC quickly picked up George’s television series. Following in the footsteps of Freddie Prinze and Desi Arnazi, George became one of the few Latinos to star in a television comedy series when his show, The George Lopez show, aired in 2002. George has not only been on television, but he has been and starred, in a wide variety of movies, such as Fatal Instinct, Real Women Have Curves, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Balls of Furry, Swing Vote, and his most recent, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, as the voice of Papi. George is currently working on new movies such as Valentine’s Day, The Spy Next Door and Marmaduke, are all set to come out in 2010. George’s success only continued when in March of 2009, it was announced that he would be getting his own late night talk show on the network, TBS. The show, Lopez Tonight, set to air in November of 2009, will be a high-energy series with a party atmosphere, live musical and comedy performances and celebrity appearances. George will become television’s first late-night host of Latino heritage.
