I have sims also and me and my friend share sims discs so we dont both have to buy the game but we did that with sims 2. We havnt shared games yet for the sims 3 because there is only 2 games out for it and we both own them. i am not sure but maybe with sims 3 they put on a thing where it can only be downloaded on one computer. Try taking it off the laptop and then trying it on the computer and if that doesnt work try reinstalling the program on your computer and if that doesnt work there should be a manufacturer number on the sims 3 game and just call them and tell them what happened and they should be able to help.
