Legal question about pirating something...?
I bought Fallout 3 and all the DLCs for my Xbox 360 and then I loaned my Fallout 3 disc to someone(the game disc, not the dlc installation discs) and they won't return it and since I have no proof that I bought it originally, I can't really do anything about it.
Instead of rebuying the game I was thinking of downloading it off of a file sharing website. Is that illegal or no? I've heard that it's legal to do it if your backing up a DVD or something that you've already bought. Is this a different case?
Well I would use it on my PC. I think piracy laws are stupid, I just didn't want to run peerblock this time.

First, try to get that back from that asshole, by going to his house with a shotgun. However, loaning the game to someone actually violates the terms of agreements, so you can't ask it back by going to court...
So, your 2 options are: Rebuy the disc or download.
Now, I am not a lawyer, but on the terms of agreements, it says "you may not DISTRIBUTE" the software. It never said anything about DOWNLOADing the software, so I think you'll be fine if you download it(Btw, when you use a torrent to download, make sure you aren't uploading, that's considered distributing). I'm not 100% sure, and I dont want you to go to jail...Read the terms of agreements to make sure.

Well first off, i suggest that you get the disc back somehow. But you can't just download the game off of a file sharing website. Mainly because that is illegal and that you need a modded xbox 360 to run those games.

I'd pay them a visit with a baseball bat.
Then when I got home, I'd be downloading that sh*t (assuming you could not recover the disks after the aforementioned baseball bat incident).
That's just me, though.
