Which Console is it going to be Xbox360 or PS3?

I wanted to buy one of these consoles, I have a PS2 which I still love, and I have a Wii but as you know certain games just makes it an injustice to buy them on the Wii console and the only first person shooter game that I like (the one that I have of course "The Conduit") I'm more of a Halo kind of guy, but my problem is which console is better?

Pros & Cons if you will

any type of help will be greatly appreciated thank you...

Update:

Things have changed since the past year ***!

Update 2:

Good input, I'm going to be a little bit of both, but the graphics on PS3 are phenomenal, and I wont have to pay for online gaming if I get the PS3 right?

Well, This depends on what you want.

Do you want a solid gaming machine?

Or do you want a complete entertainment system.

Xbox offers a far wider horizon of gaming, and better online than ps3. ITS MEANT FOR GAMING, that's it.

PS3 offers not just a gaming console, but basically a computer for your tv. For all your music movies photos and games rolled into one Package this is the way to go. (and hard drive space is almost unlimited since you can always upgrade) its also like the best dvd / blu-ray player you can buy.

so which are you? a hardcore gamer? or an all around multimedia master?

I agree with realgmr, the 360 is a multi-media console with a ton more options regarding multi-media. It sounds like badboysdiehard hasn’t really used a 360 from his answer. You don’t have to pay for online gaming with the PS3, however you won’t get the quality or quantity of good online games. The online multiplayer on the PS3 is often shoddy. When it comes to online play, with the 360 and the PS3, you are going to get what you pay for; a free service with problems or a premium service that costs you a few bucks. If you statement “Things have changed since the past year ***!” is referring to the PS3 improving, you have it mixed up. During a consoles lifecycle the manufacturers are constantly finding ways to reduce the cost of production. Over the past year Sony has found ways to put in cheaper parts and the blu-ray players now installed in a PS3 does not have the high quality that the launch ones did. It sounds like you already had your mind made up on a PS3 before asking the question and looking for validation, which is fine. The PS3 is a good machine for games and will eventually get a stronger exclusive title library. However, I wouldn’t be surprise that within a few months you find yourself wanting a 360 instead.

Source(s): I own both. I bought a PS3 at launch and it gets very little use.

I don’t know why anyone would say that the Xbox 360 is “meant for gaming, that’s it” with the 360 having Nexflix, Movie and Music Marketplace, and Windows Media Center integration. The PS3 also does not have “ the best dvd / blu-ray player you can buy,” it is more middle of the road when it comes to performance. I have both and overall the 360 gets a lot more use when it comes to movies, and other media. As for gaming, the 360 takes the cake there too. The 360’s game library is far more impressive and the online gaming is definitely far better than PSN. I would say go with the 360.
