i have painful hammertoes. does anyone have any recommendations for good shoes? i am a server and on my feet.?

I have a neighbor lady with hammertoes and she got relief for them by doing this release on the muscle under your foot:

Foot muscle:

With foot in your lap, place your thumbs side by side at the back of the arch, right in front of the heel. Press in and hold moderate pressure. After 30 seconds slowly raise your toes as high as you can, release the pressure, but hold toes up for another 30 seconds.
