Silencer on .50 Cal riffle lower damage? COD MW2?

Yes putting the silencer on any weapon in cod mw2 will cause the weapon to do less damage. In order to "silence" a bullet, the silencer slows it down so it doesn't break the sound barrier. Slower bullets do less damage. A silencer will also lessen the range of the weapon, since slower bullets won't travel as far.

yeap lower damage it takes 2 shots to the head to kill someone even with the stooping power perk.you are right the only thing that silencer does is to lower the range not the damage.just dont combine silencer with sniper.the only thing that may explain this is that with silencer the bullet doesnt break the sound barrier thats why its doesnt make noise.and the ones with no silencer make a noise boom boom its because the bullet breaks the sound barrier.thats true a guy from army told me that,anyway with silenser the bullet is slower so less miles so lower range but damage? i dont know. ok i told you everything i know
