I spent 6 months away from my bf in college. We took turns calling each other long distance. I would email him, Instant Message, and I kept a an online journal for my friends and family to read. There was a large time difference, so many times, that was the easiest way to keep everyone up to date. He came out to visit for a few days about halfway through my trip but it's hard to say if that made it better or worse when he left! Call everyday simple as that..whenever you feel that you're drifting apart (which you undoubtedly will, it's only natural) you need to just give him reminders of how much you mean to him and how much you love him.
