Can anyone tell me some good Jazz saxophonists?

Looking to get into Jazz more with my saxophone. Have a tenor, thinking of buying a soprano, so preferably tenor saxophonists as I'm aware soprano isn't too common in Jazz, but if anyone knows any good Jazz Soprano Saxophonists, let me know :-)

    David Sanborn is primarily an alto saxophonist, but he has a few songs he plays soprano on. Dave Koz plays a little soprano too. Everyone else already took all the other tenor players i could think of.

    classic sax --- John Coltrane - tenor / alto

    Sonny Stit

    Richie Cole

    more current -- Joshua Redman Quartet - Straight Ahead

    (probably like this cut the best - it was a live concert)

    these guys are some of my favorites... best to hear jazz live...

  • I was looking to say Stan Getz and Mike Brecker ..... glad they got mentioned they usually don't.

    others;

    Boots Randolf

    Cannonball Adderley [spelling?]

    Charlie Byrd Parker

    Sonny Rawlins

    after that you can just go to this list: and I know I am missing some key musicians.
