Questions about Genetic counseling?

Alright, so mental retardation and heart conditions run in the family.

My doctor wants me to see a genetics councelor.

Should I get all my family history (that I can) and the father's history up together before I go?

Or do they just check for everything?

I would get all the info on my family and the father of the baby's history that I could.

You should get the family histories together.

There are some things that they can't test for but they can give you a general idea of whether/how much your family history increases the risks.

it would be a robust concept to get checks carried out. Down's Syndrome isn't unavoidably genetic. the guts issues/ft issues may be. in case you're thinking approximately having little ones with this guy, shouldn't you have a extra serious dating with him? in line with hazard i'm at a loss for words by the region.
