In Excel 2007, you will go to the Data tab and select 'From Other Sources'. Select from SQL Server. You may need your IT department to help you out with the server name and password and also exactly where the database is stored. After you've located the source, the process is pretty much the same as normal Excel Query.

How can I fetch specific data from SQL Data base to MS-Excel?
