Anyone familiar with the band Camel?

I just browsing through the "genius" recomendation on i tunes and the song Freefall came up, listened to the snippet thought is was pretty good. Always thought about getting some music from Camel but didn't what songs or albums to start with. So any recomendations would be great.

    You called?!

    One of the great underrated British Prog-Rock bands {my dad saw them live in 75}.

    They are one of the bands whose music is best first-heard chronologically, as like most Prog bands their sound and style evolved over the years, and their first 4 albums are all excellent. So...

    Camel

    Mirage

    The Snow Goose

    Moonmadness

    Some great songs from subsequent albums :~

    {of course, this is just in my opinion}

    from "Rain Dances" : First Light ; Tell Me ; Unevensong ; One of These Days I'll Get an Early Night ; Elke ; Rain Dances.

    from "Breathless" : Echoes ; The Sleeper

    from "I Can See Your house from Here" : Eye of the Storm ; Ice

    from "The Single Factor" : Selva ; Sasquatch ; End Piece

    from "Stationary Traveller" : Pressure Points ; Stationary Traveller ; Missing ; After Words {these 4 are all instrumentals}

    from "Harbour of Tears" {concept album} : Irish Air ; Irish Air (Instrumental Reprise) ; Cobh ; Under the Moon ; Watching the Bobbins ; Generations ; Running from Paradise ; Coming of Age ; The Hour Candle (A Song for My Father)

    from "Rajaz" : Sahara

    from "A Nod and A Wink" : A Nod and A Wink ; The Miller's Tale ; Squigley Fair ; For Today

    Always loved them.

    I lived in Germany when I was a kid/ teen. They were huge back then and I owned most of their albums.

    Great band, great tunes.

    Any one of the songs mentioned above by other users are great.

    My personal favorite album is

    MIRAGE

    Wow, you never see them mentioned in R&P.

    They were a really good progressive rock band during the early 70's and my favorite albums are "Mirage", "The Snow Goose", and "Moonmadness".

    After "Moonmadness" they started changing band members and their music started getting more pop sounding which I didn't really care for.

    I know of them, and in the 70s I listened to enough of them to realise that they were not really my type of thing. There are quite a few tracks on Youtube for you to get a sampler from, and that may be a cheaper route to go down initially.

    "Chord Change"

    "Lady Fantasy"

    Good luck.
