Why do people hate Yugioh?

The people hating on it probably never had the experience of it. Also people can be just trolls. A great thing I heard from Ray William Johnson is:

"Behind each troll there is a human being.

A human being that hates his job.

He was probably adopted, I don't know.

He hates his life so much he takes it out on you."

If a person comes up to you and disrespects you, ask him or her what they do. If they say that play another game say I don't disrespect your game so why are you disrespecting mine?

If they claim it's a waste of money say there wrong. I know they would be if they said that to me. I spent maybe $4000 at most on my cards before I took a two year break, by binder alone is worth $6000 and I have 8000+ commons and if that was at 35 cents each that's over $2000. Doesn't sound like a waste of money to me. Sounds like profit.

As well you get the bonus of being socially active where plenty of people sit on the computer on MMO's like wow and rs where you talk to pixels and not real faces. (I'm not disrespecting these games in fact I play runescape =] )

I'm getting back into yugioh again and I'm 18 turning 19 this month! I don't think age matters at all as long as your having fun. I don't really see people hating Yu-Gi-Oh around here now. Since I'm done high school. In Elementy and middle school I got taunted all the time because I played and brought my cards to school almost every day to trade. Didn't bother me though and shouldn't bother others.

Btw the Japanese yugioh shows are awesome. Love season 0 ^_^

* Season 0 is the season 4kids didn't license because it was to graphic and didn't relate to the yugioh card game but something called Yami game which was to dark for children to watch.

Better question Who loves Yugioh the Abriged Series? that is mighty funny and it makes fun of GX.

i personally like yugioh where im at theres tornaments actually and most ppl there are over 14.

then the next day after the regular tornament theres always a tournament for the little kids though i never went because i needed to learn from the other ppl.

but im 14 now and ive loved yugioh TCG for like ever

yugioh is really fun and there is nothing wrong with having a hobby, but parties and getting laid are both really fun. i guess it would get tiring if you do it every night but still... on to your question. different people have different reasons. most people think it makes them cool if they can make fun of someone else. no one wants to watch unsensored yugioh. it is kinda a waste of time. i think people have hated all TCGs ever since pokemon stopped being popular. and pokemon is like the whole yugioh gx series and the yugioh gx cards... innocent, cute, and cuddly. plus the characters in the shows are kids so they think it is a kids game. since they think its for kids they want to separate themselves from kid stuff in order to show that they are mature. honnestly, have you ever tried to teach a kid how to play yugioh. it is so hard. i think they have to eather be really smart or at least 10 to learn how to play well. so it is not really a kids game.

well i say kids that couldnt afford yugioh cards, poor people just started hating it and insulting people who played just because they couldnt get there hands on yugioh cards it been past down from kid to kid yugioh is dumb, its for nerd , dont play, if you play your a loser, i wont be your freind if you play etc i like playing yugioh i firguired this out because there are alot of kids at my school that h8 yugioh and half of them are poor lol hope this helped it help me alot i realised

I feel for you. I too have been constantly ridiculed for enjoying the ever changing fast paced thrilling game of yugioh. i just graduated collage with 3.7 GPA, play competitive tennis and have a wonderful girlfriend, yet i mention that i placed second in local tourny, (not an easy feat using monarch beatdown) and everyone is like....you waste your life with that?! wtf you loser

i know exactly what you mean when you say WTF!!! its not even about the show i can say **** to the show and not think twice...hell i agree with people when they say yugioh sucks (the show) but i will defend the card game forever because of the challenge in skill, imagination, stratagy and the constant adapting to new cards/ stratagies. i do however like the show (Japanese) and try to get people to play the game (obviously it doesnt work haha)

In conclusion i feel that the reason people hate yugioh is because it is too much work to think about the deck, how much work it actually takes to make your deck the best, and that others cannot grasp the fun in challange and instead insult the game to make themselves feel bigger. Kind of like people with schoolwork, Dungeons and Dragons, and other mentally challenging things in life

I think they hate it based on the 4kids version, that sucked. I honestly haven't seen the Japanese one, but I'm told everything is properly explained in that and that there are no omitted scenes. I personally didn't like the series until I watched the abridged series.

But to answer your question, the english dubs usually dumb things down which really makes the end product lame. It's just like how they took out the 'death' scenes in Sailor Moon.

People don't hate Yu-gi-oh, they just haven't seen anything good about it.
