In the UK under the steering wheel are the gas and brake pedals on left and right like in the US?

Or are they reversed? Do you use your right foot for the gas (or petrol) and is the brake pedal on the left? Also is the gear shift lever on the right or left side of the steering column?

Yes, regardless of which side the steering wheel is on, all the other controls remains the same. Fuel on the right, brake to the left, clutch to the far left. If standard transmission with floor shift, it will be to the left of course.

Column gear shift has not been used on UK spec cars for around 35-40 years...

Pedals are the same. Every UK spec car I ever drove had a console mounted shifter between the front seats.
