How do you give people 10 points on Y!A?
Well, I always hear people say "Best answer 10 points!" and I want to do that but how??

A button appears underneath your question 4 hrs after you posted it, use it for picking a best answer (if you already got one), the BA will get 10 points from YA. Some users just mention the 10 points in their question because they hope it will get more answers when they say so. Others mention it to get the minimum 20 spaces rule filled as requested by YA.

Click on your profile, and sometimes there's a highlighted that needed your attention to Vote for Best Answer, before someone in the community does.
