I just moved from Asheviile and fished a lot of clear lakes and ponds there. Looking back on the last 3 years of my fishing logs 50% of my bass were caught on a plastic shaky head worm. I also had good success with jigs, shallow crank baits and other plastics. For bluegill I almost always used a imitation insect lure I did not use live bait at all for either.

i'm from wisconsin. for bluegill around here you use a small jig or a worm. nothin big. for a bass you wanna fish in the weed's with a SPRO frog. its a topwater lure so it wont get caught in the weeds. you can also use a spin bait or mepps. i think frogs work the best for me though. Crank baits work good for bass too.
