I'm not sure what the next trend will be. It really depends on the next big celebrity scandal. Maybe, Tiger...haha. Or if another legend dies.
I see Hank in there somewhere.
I totally agree with the bird names thing. Expect to see Falcon after the whole balloon boy drama.
Last names as firsts are becoming extremely common.
I also think place names are gonna make a big comeback...Aspen, Charlotte, Dakota, Georgia, & Virginia are all becoming really popular on Y!A.
I would love to see the Isabella, Isobel, Bella, Belle trend go away.
& the messed up spellings. ...and the Aiden, Jayden, Kayden, etc names.
I hope the Twilight trend goes away too. I liked Twilight, but this obsession that everyone has with it has ruined a lot of good names for me.

These seem pretty true...
Too bad for the Twilight names, I really like Rosalie and Emmett! But I wouldn't use them anytime soon, not until the link to twilight dies out. Haha "Jewish surnames" is my favorite, seeing as I'm a proud Jew and obviously this trend was inspired by ME!
If I were to have a baby in 2010 (ha, doubt it), my preferred trend would definitely be the "L" consonant one since my favorite girl name is Lena and I'm recently really loving Lyla.
I don't like the "economical" and the "serious, no-frills" trends. And I love Spanish and Italian names so I'm happy! You can see proof to that in this section, how everyone loves Sophia and Isabella...
The one I'd like to see die out is people naming their twins matchy-matchy rhyming names.
edit: a e т e r n a- I so agree! I liked Audrina a lot before I've heard of that show (my sister's friend is named Audrina- "Audry"), but now I wouldn't use it! Well hopefully that show will die out soon enough...

Well I love names like Lily, Lila, and Lola. I just wish it wasn't such a popular trend. The trend that should die is reality tv names. I like almost all "au" names but for some reason I can't like Audrina because of that show. It's so stupid.

I'm BUMMED to see Felix on there, as it's been at the top of my boys list for quite awhile and I've yet to meet a Felix in real life. My baby has an E name and I call her by a nickname with the double L sound. BOOO!

Nameberry is behind the times if they are predicting baby name trends for 2010.

Newest Reatro Trend or Hottest Trend inspried by a celebrity baby names will probably be the 2010 trend
I want the weird names to go away
- 1 decade ago
I think names that were popular in the late 1800's are going to be the new trend.
I really hope all the aiden, jaydon, braydon names go away. I also dislike people trying to come up with unique spellings (kyndall spells kin-duhl not ken-duhl). also strongly masculine names on girls
- Xysa ZingLv 41 decade ago
I would like to see names from TV die. And the name Jasmine, I want to see that die. I like it, but I want to see it die.
I also want there to be more people with four names, like Eleanor Paige Amber Jamieson or something like that. Three names feels meagre sometimes. I've got four and I like it :)
- мαуα.Lv 41 decade ago
I have to say, that I totally agree with this. Like completely. This is so true, hahah.
