Since he is your "boss", you would be wise to do as he says.

Did you said he is the boss?

So he's doing his job, managing and micro managing

And believe me he's sending you and all others one very

clear message. be an part of the "team" or you are out!

How much tolerance would you have if you were the

manager and had some employee who would not follow

through with his orders, if it was me, you and anyone on your

team would be in the unemployment line really soon.

If you start doing your job instead of trying to undermine his

you would probably feel much better at work and better yet

hold on to your job. The order to managers out there today is

stream line, make do, and down size, I guess you know what I

am talking about if you don't recognize none of this as the way

your manager is managing your department them you don't

observe much. Times are hard, go ahead just for laughs try to

find another job right now. Do yourself a favor if you think you

have thes kills and competence to be an manager find yourself

a job in that field If you find one great, change jobs and start this

new one with a new attitude, respect your boss.

Form a bond so he knows he can count on you to be an positive

part of the team. Be the one who will be the first to accommodate

your manager's decisions, if you agree or not with it.

It's not your decision any way.

And be mature enough to realize one very important fact.

Everyone has a boss, no matter what position they are in.

There is always someone above that they have to answer to.

Answer to and follow the orders from, right now your boss can

be in the same position you are, he may don't agree with his

    orders.

The difference between the two of you is he's smart enough to

follow the boss orders and make sure they are followed.

My advice to you is: Be a friend to yourself and make a 360

turn and wake up. Make an lemonade of the lemons.

Be happy! You will, if you stop this nonsense.
