Any problems with Tri-Sprintec 28?
I've been taking Tri-Sprintec 28 for a 2 rounds of 28 days. It's a generic birth control, I didn't want the generic, but my doctor assured me it's okay. I looked up several reviews in the last few days about it online and I got mixed emotions with it.
I was just wondering if the following symptoms could really be part of my birth control. I've gained 23 lbs since I started taking it, I don't look overly fat, but I don't like that I've gained so much so quickly. I'm constantly hungry. I've always got head aches. I feel depressed, quit frequently. There isn't any possible way I could be pregnant. I just had a baby in April, and I haven't had sex since July, and I took a pregnancy test before starting the birth control just to be sure there wasn't a baby, and it was a big No. I called my doctor, but he said that no one he knows has had any problems with it, and that it's probably all in my head. Could these symptoms really be a side effect of my birth control? Should I stop taking it? I'm not having sex at this current time, so not taking it really wouldn't hurt me any.

Those are typical symptoms of all oral contraceptives because of the estrogen hormone in it. The weight gain is also from that because it'll often slow down your metabolism too. Once you stop taking the pill you will start losing weight.
I stopped taking mine in August and I've lost 15 pounds since then.

Hypothyroidism, or low thyroid function, is a silent epidemic, according to many functional medicine doctors. How to cure hypothyroidism naturally https://tr.im/FjsqS
People can suffer for years with symptoms that our conventional medical system frequently doesn’t know how to treat because complaints seem scattered or vague and often there is no pill for the ill(s).
What’s worse, in most cases, hypothyroidism isn’t rooted in a thyroid problem in the first place. It’s rooted in an immune system gone awry, but most doctors don’t test for the antibodies that show the presence of autoimmunity.

well i don't really like tri-sprintec but thats only cuz i had been using tri-nessa which is a generic for ortho tri cyclen but in july i had to switch to tri-sprintec cuz they stopped making tri-nessa. the pharmacey said its the EXACT same thing but my body and my gyn says differently. i seem to get pimples now, i'm more emotional just before my period, i get bad cramps, and my period still comes on the same day as before but now the time of day flucuates where as before it was always at the same time of day.
i doubt your symptoms are caused by the birth control BUT i also don't think this is in your head.
the wight gain, depression, and head aches all sound like you could have hypothryoidism.
here is a great link to learn about hypothyroidism including symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment. take a look at it and then go to your dr and ask them to test your TSH, T3, T4, and thyroid antibodies.
