Need secret to removing black magic marker from a legal document.?
I know what is under is under a magic maker black out area but l need for other people to see it and not just take my word for it. Tried black light, nothing. Please no guesses this is serious business here. Thanks for looking.

You could try putting alcohol on a q-tip and gently stroking it across the ink. You could also try Hawiian Tropic sun lotion, it has something in it that will remove the ink. You can also try goo-gone. I don't know how well it will work on paper, but I know it works on everything else including wood. Good luck my friend!!!!
I say the alcohol with gentle strokes would work best. I just did it. I used a dark blue marker and then a permenant marker. It took both of them up and left the other ink on the paper.

There are some companies that do that, you send them the document (as long as it's legally yours) and the use forensic techniques to tell you what's under the magic marker; of course there are no warranties.
But it only works if you have the original; if the document is a photocopy of the blackout document then they can't do anything.
I don't recommend home-made formulas but if you decide to go that way then be careful and do some test first since you might ruin the document in the process and delete both the marker and what's under it.
