I think my dog has an eye infection and he needs some temporary relief till he can see a vet. What do I do?!?

My one year old pit bull has pussy yellowish discharge out of his eyes and it is itchy and sore. What can I do to give him temporary relief until he can make it to the vet?

Conjunctivitis is usually treated with medicated (antibiotic) eye drops. Until you can take your dog into a vet, you can try using Eye Clear from PetMeds. This is a saline/boric acid scrub that will help alleviate some of the discomfort, but should not be used as a final solution. Your pet will still need to see a vet.

Just try to keep the eye clean...flush with water occasionally. The eyes are not a place to mess around, see the vet asap.

there's nothing you can do.. he needs to see a vet ASAP for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Eye issues are not something you attempt to diagnose or treat yourself.
