In the case of Dowling vs Chicago Options Associates, did any on the losing side end up with Wikipedia mgmt?
The head of Chicago Options Associates, Michael E. Davis, apparently sought to hide $800,000 from the plaintiff, Brian Dowling. At one point, Davis was found to be in contempt of court and a bench warrant for his arrest was issued! Is that Davis the same Michael E. Davis who was on the Wikimedia Foundation board of trustees for several years and is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Wikia, Inc. (which is Wikipedia's for-profit spin-off company)?

If that's the case, why is it that controversy, fraud, and deception so readily seem to follow the Wikimedia projects and their spin-offs?

He would appear to be the one and the same Michael Davis.
As to your second question, I suppose there could be any number explanations given. The one I have seen given most often is "A fish rots from the head down". This invariably is a reference to the "Sole Founder" of Wikipedia, Wikia AND the Wikimedia Foundation, Jimmy "Jimbo" Wales (Ben Kovitz? Larry Sanger? Florence Devouard? Angela Beesley? Who the hell are those people?). Jimbo is an avowed adherent of "Objectivism", a narcissistic "philosophy" proposed by the late author and well-known-eccentric-about-town (to put it kindly), Ayn Rand. Given this, it probably shouldn't be all that surprising that allegations of sleaze have attached themselves to Jimbo for years, just as they attached to Rand during her lifetime.

I love hockey and I can kind of see this guy's point. I want to see skating, shooting, passing, and hitting. Fighting? I enjoy a good fight now and then, but I have always felt that fighting should be a part of the game, but apart from the game. If two bruisers want to start beating the crap out of each other, DON'T BLOW THE WHISTLE. Play should continue. Let the fighters fight, and let the players continue to play and put the puck in the net!

Ever heard of the fallacy of poisoning the well? Because that's what you're doing.
