I know Mark McGuire is hogging the headlines tonight, but what's the news about Greg Maddux?

Greg Maddux is my all-time favorite pitcher. I read something on the ESPN ticker tape tonight about him being involved with the Cubs in a manager position, but I didn't get to read it all. There was so much McGuire going on until it only ran once. Anyone out there in the know?

    congratulations to Maddux. He's a baseball man and right now we sure could use as many of them in the game as we can get!

    The term used on Chicago Sports Radio is "special Assistant" to the GM just to clarify

    He has been hired as an assistant to GM Jim Hendry

    He will be an assistant to the GM. It's probably a PR position more than anything.
