Should Obama force hospitals to cut nursing pay?
Obama wants to see a government run health-care system. In the UK, which has such a system, an NHS nurse (RN) earns between 13,233 and 16,333 pounds a year, which is US$21,400 to US$26,416. Here in CA, where the cost of living is almost the same as southern England, the average pay for an RN is between $75,000 and $85,000 a year - three times as much.
Nursing, in countries that have government run health care, is a very low-pay job. In the US it's a pretty high-pay job. Will Obamacare make that change?

The government is not taking control of the health-care system and do not set employee wages. The obama plan is to reform health insurance.
Nurses wages are set by the market, just like everyone's pay in America. We have a nationwide shortage of nurses and as a result the pay reflects the shortage of supply.

This isn't correct, Canada has government run health care and the starting salary for a RN today is between $27 - $37.80 per hour. This works out roughly to $55K to $80K per year. They maintain a high wage up here, too.

Give some credit to your President. Even a child wouldn't make such a stupid change. We have Universal Healthcare System in Canada & nurses still get paid so high. What is wrong with Government run healthcare? I don't get it , you Americans!

Remember, in the U.S. we have a shortage of RN"s and every year it's getting worse. Nursing jobs, especially RN's will always pay good in the U.S.
