I recently watched the music video "Hate Me" by Blue October. It made me wonder if the mother of Justin Furstenfeld (the lead singer) is still alive. Anyone with info, that would be great! Thanks!

Yes, his mother is still alive! His mom plays herself at the end of the video too. :)
He Just wanted to make a song to try to make up for what he did to his family, and most of all, his mother.
I couldn't find any interviews though, sorry!
