Beats headphones by Dr Dre?
Does anyone own a pair of these? I'm looking at the solo over the ear headphones in particular. Are they worth the price tag of $199 or should I spend a few extra $$ and pick up the Bose headphones?
Thanks.
@latj. $1300 for headphones is a little out of the range I want to spend. But I heard that brand was top of the line. Nice hubby.
thanks everyone for advice, i'm still not sure what I'm going to buy.

Pass on the beats headphones, they cost that much because it has Dre's name on it. Get those Bose headphones.

I personally don't own a pair, but a good friend of mine does and has let me try them out. I really don't care for a specific type of headphones; it's more about the quality of the music file on the music player. I have all mp3/downloaded music, so the quality is miles away from music ripped from a CD.
But the Beats are very good, and people mob you (making you feel good :D). As for the Bose headphones, I'd say no; only because once you get to those levels of quality, you might not even be able to tell the difference between them because they are both so good.

Whatever headphones you get, may I recomend getting them at RadioShack. They have "Headphone Insurance" and I believe it's well worth it. As far The Beats by Dre go, skullcandy seems to have just as good a bass in the buds, for a much better price.

I bought the Bose and adore them. I don't know anything about the "Beats" but I bought the Bose because they are also "noise cancelling" and I use them when I fly. But...I believe I paid $300.00 for mine...and I see that Dre has comparable ones for $349.00. I had no idea he had them when I bought mine but personally I am truly satisfied with mine. For Christmas I got a pair of the Sennheiser HD800 Premier Wireless Headphones and they are out of this world. I never knew how much they cost until I just now looked and found out they were over $1300.00 (they were a gift from my Hubby). When you listen to music (even old vinyls) it sounds like live music!!!
Happy 2010!!!

Definetely NOT worth the money. I have checked out the specs and for less than half the price you can get a similar/better headphone by purchasing either the Technics DH-1200 or Sony V700. Don't buy into the marketing.
