Are black guppies really true black or just very dark blue?
Just wondering because I put some black females together with some dark blue males and the babies appear to be black.

Very few animals are true black. Most black guppies are likely a color variant so dark as to be indistinguishable from black by the naked eye.
The fry will likely end up a mix of mom and dad's coloring. For quite awhile, their coloring is not reliable. It's really hard to tell what color guppy fry are going to be when they grow up.
