Lab panting...after tussle with other dog?
We have a chocolate lab (Snickers) about 45 min. ago, she got into a fight with our other dog (Annie) who I asked a question about a few min. ago. Annie latched onto Snickers' neck and wouldn't let go, I had to pry a broom in her mouth while another person held her by the neck. Anyways, Snickers, who is 13, was panting really hard. We figured it was from nerves and anxiety from all the excitement... well she is still panting REALLY hard. Laying on her side, her entire body is moving with effort. I've looked her over thoroughly, cleaned out every cut and given her an antibiotic. Do you think something else could be wrong? Should we head to the vet?

Yes, go to the vet. She could have internal injuries that are causing her current stress. For a 13 year old dog to still be in stress after a "tussle" is not a good thing. She should have calmed down by now.

her windpipe could be harmed in some way if the dog latched onto her neck. she may have a crushed windpipe. I'd take her to an emergency vet immediately if she were my dog.

it could be just stress but if that other dog was biting so hard Snickers could have an injured nerve in her neck, that could be helping her breath

If you've done all that for her and she's still distressed, yes call the vet. Something's not right.
