    1. Make sure the memory card is in your camera.

    2. Turn the camera on

    3. Connect your camera to your computer via USB cord (should have come with the camera)

    4. Go to 'My Computer' (on your computer)

    5. You should see something like 'removable drive (H:)' (may be a different drive letter)

    6. Right click it

    7. On the list select 'Format'

    8. Check the box that says 'Quick Format'

    9. Click Start

Craigs answer isnt right. Thats why youre having problems.

When you format the card in your camera DO NOT attach the camera to your computer. The "insert disk" message is because of the bad info you got from craig. You do not format the card using your computer. If you do your camera wont recognize it. Your computer and camera are thinking youre trying to upload photos and asking you for the software installation disk which came with your camera.

Forget craig. Seems he doesnt know what hes talking about. Heres how you format your card

    1 Camera off

    2 Insert memory card

    3 Camera on

4 You dont say which camera so I cant be specific but somewhere in your cameras menus is "format". Click it.

    5 Youre done
