What Dani said about FB is true. Make a facebook page and update it constantly.
Get some big name pages to put a link to your website on theirs (trade, by linking to theirs as well with an <a href>) The more sites linking to yours, the better google and botts will find you, assuming the linking sites are good quality.
10 HQ sites linking to you is better than 40 crappy sites.
Also, make sure your meta tags are fresh, non-repetetive, and simple, and do NOT copy other photographers, google will note this and knock you for it.
try Alexa.com to view your current web ranking (updates for certain things vary from weekly to quarterly to yearly though, so it's not always upto date on EVERYTHING at once. very helpful site though)
Use an SEO company, they are paid professionals to get you on the first page of google and bing. IT's what they do, but they are expensive. Google business pages has some very good cheap or free options as well
good luck :)

The best advertisement is word of mouth. Networking sites are your best and cheapest way to get that word out. Create a facebook profile for your photography, and promote it through your friends. Cost=$0
Effect=amazing!
