How to replace a Hotpoint wdl540p washer dryer heating element?
I have a Hotpoint WDL540P Washer dryer that has a fault. The water does not get hot and the dryer does not heat up the clothes.
Are these both controlled by the same heating element ? and any advice on how to replace this part would be greatly appreciated.

You have a hard job in front of you, it is going to take you a good few hours to remove the element then replace with a new element, type in to google type of washing machine model number and serial number you will get instructions on how to repair your machine. If I remember correctly the element cost is about £60 by the time you repair it , it may be cheaper buying another machine.
Sorry about bad news but hope you get it fixed.
