What can I do to make my dog like the Frisbee?
Hi,
I was just wondering how I could get my dog (miniature Eskie) to get more interested in the frisbee? The only way I can get her to be interested in it is if I use treats....but I want it to be fun for her, not just like she has to play. But, even when I do use treats while at a small park, she isn't interested at all...so she just walks off (or tries to while on a leash). How do I get her more interested?
Thanks in advance :)

It must have occurred to you that your dog doesn't have a high toy drive. Many dogs don't. So what's wrong with rewarding her with treats if she bring you the frisbee? You use whatever works with each dog and if yours won't play, then she won't.
But you can try (in your backyard) playing with the frisbee yourself with her just doing whatever she wants. Throw it, run and get it, act like its the most fun thing ever. At this point, you don't want her playing - you're trying to build up some interest in her. Keep it up for a short while, then put the frisbee away. Next day, do the same thing again. If she's showing any interest in it, good. The next day, you play with it again, then after a couple of minutes, encourage her to play, too. And reward her for her interest with whatever method works! With some dogs, the reward is the game itself. Others its praise. Some it would be treats.

If you find a way: let me know!!!
Seriously there is no way to make your dog like it! I have an Aussie and an Aussie-Mix right now and they both have no interest in any toy. If I would throw a frisbee for them they would both look at me like saying: you threw it - you run and get it back yourself! I think that not every dog likes to play fetch. Isn´t there anything else your dog would like to do? (Agility, dog dance, obedience, trailing......) Find something different you can do with her that you both like and have fun with that.

Either you have a dog that like to play Frisbee or one that doesn't. My dog wouldn't chase anything over 3 times and didn't put to much energy into it. I just accepted her the way she is.

Peanut Butter! :) Honestly- smear some peanut butter on the inside rim (use a cheap frisbee- as she'll chew the first one or two up)... she will start to knaw on it and later play with it. Sounds odd- but it works. We have 2 adult labs that are frisbee champs and thats what we do with their pups when we train them. :) Good luck!

Maybe she doesnt like the feel of it in her mouth, try a different type of toy that you can throw, i.e. those whip-it balls.
