Our house is 73-75 degrees at all times. I live in Canada with -40 degree weather in winter and when we go inside it is always warm. We have central heating units in our houses. Also our houses are built well and have insulation. Even places that are warm like British Columbia (with winter temps of 73-76 degrees) have central heaters. We keeps two small heaters in our garage in the winter and it never gets any colder then 50 and our garage is made of mostly concrete.

I would say that would be EXTREMELY cold for a baby or even a regular person. So what your saying is that your house has no standard heating units such as a furnace, baseboard heater, or radiant flooring or ceiling heating. Comfortable room temperature should be no colder then 72 degrees. I suggest you invest in a furnace or a new house with a furnace.

I've never heard of a house being that cold with people living in it. If you can't afford the things I suggested invest in 3 or more heaters. Although they are fairly dangerous with a baby around - burns and such.

I come from a very cold climate for half the year (We live in the middle of Canada) and our children have all grown up with a little bit of a chill in the house.

First of all, if your baby is not crying all the time, is always in warm clothing and is pretty much always bundled in a blanket, then the baby is fine.

Babies will tell you when they are uncomfortable by crying a lot. (You would probably notice that when you take her out of her clothing to give her a bath and she cries.) As long as you keep her in clothes that will not overheat her little body, she should be fine. (A hint: If you reach into her blankets and her body temperature is warm and constant/comfortable throughout, she's fine. Make sure you're not overheating her with extra blankets if at all possible. If she's sweating, she's too warm.)

65 Degrees IS a little bit cold, but if you are trying your very best to keep the house as warm as possible, and keeping your baby warm with clothes and blankets then you're doing all that you can do.
