He'll be fine. Half a Kit Kat isn't enough chocolate to do any real harm. Kit Kats actually don't have much chocolate in them in the first place.

    And it's "Dachshund."

I once had a beagle that got into some candy bars I was selling for a school-based fundraiser, ate two or three, and never even so much as got sick. And those were pure chocolate. As others have said, Kit Kat Bars are mostly wafers, not chocolate; and even if it was pure chocolate, the dog probably would have been fine with such a small amount.

Don't panic, the dog will (probably) be fine! What you may want to do just to make sure, though, is call your vet just to make sure. After all, your vet knows your pet's history, and has a lot more experience in this sort of thing than even a hard-core dog owner. If the vet isn't open, try your local emergency pet hospital, many of which are open 24 hrs.

I am sure he will be fine. Keep a close eye and if any vomitting occurs watch for how much. If it keeps up call a vet.

And no amount of chocolate is safe for a dog. It contains toxins that can seriously harm dogs. Doesn't matter how much. Some dogs can handle small amounts where some can't handle any! Best to be safe, take a break and eat that kit kat!

a million oz..of milk chocolate according to pound of bodyweight for a dogs until eventually now considerable toxicity is shown. commonly. some dogs are greater susceptible than others to poisoning. A chocolaty serviette and crumb shouldn't injury him, he probably won't even get an dissatisfied abdomen. this is dark and baker's chocolate that would reason extreme issues in small quantities. Milk chocolate is diluted so a 20 lb dogs might would desire to consume like a pound of it to get poisoned.

She will be fine, since it was a small piece. My dog once ate a piece of chocolate that she stole from me and she was perfectly fine. You see dogs stomachs cant properly digest chocolate so thats why a whole lot of chocolate is bad really for any animal. Just like us we get stomach aches from eating to much chocolate for a dog like the one you have has a small stomach so the amount that she ate wont do her any harm.

It takes more chocolate than that to do serious harm, I doubt that half a kit kat will even make him feel sick. (It's not even all chocolate!)

But keep chocs out of reach from now on.

    And Weenie dog? Really?

    We know what Dachsunds are.

my dog has gotten into a box of chocolate donuts , and all she did was through up . No Problems on her inside or massive poop .

Since kit kat is mostly wafer and there not huge , im sure she will be ok (:

Hey my dog has eaten a whole chocolate heart and a chocolate orange. They were both careless mistakes on my familys part but he turned out fine.

The average size dog would have to eat more than a Hershey's bar worth of chocolate to die. He might get a little sick, but I doubt it.

Just watch him closely to make sure he's not acting strangely or different from his normal behavior.. but most likely he should be fine as I don't think the amount he had would be considered very large.

Be careful though to make sure he doesn't have anymore.
