Do I have to file taxes if I made less than $200?

I worked at a place that didn't take out taxes from your pay. I only made $200 before I quit. Do I still have to file?

if you make less than $600 from any one source, you don't ahve to report it. but you may still want to file because our new socialist govt might like to redistibute some wealth your way...

You only need to file taxes (federal) on income greater than $600.

Not if that's your only income for the year from any source. If you have enough other income to have to file, or if you DO file for any reason, then you have to claim it.

If you Google: "I.O.U.S.A." then click "video" up top - you will see it really doesn't matter.
