how do i fix my net gear wireless router?

I was messing with the settings and now it won't connect wirelessly and I tried accessing the router login but it keep prompting me for my password no matter how many times i put it in, i also hit the reset button so i tried using "password" but the same thing happened. is it because it wan't hooked up to the modem, though i don't think that should matter but i could be wrong i was once already

i had it working fine 'til i ruined it, i changed the wireless channel from 1 to 11, it s wgr614v7

and i tried net gear support i found nothing helpful

help me out and i promise i won't do it again.

Update:

my wireless devices either don't support it or there was too much interference from the 100 other routers that were probably on that channel

Update 2:

the default is "password" it that the log in keeps popping up and it won't access

If you have reset your router, the password should be set to the default which is

    Username: admin

    Password: password

If 'password' does not work, try 1234 (the default on some older Netgear devices).

If you still can't login, you will need to contact Netgear support because that would be abnormal behaviour and the unit may be faulty.

Also, changing the wireless channel should not have caused any problems, so long as all the devices on your network could also support Channel 11.
