Resume. Waitressing description.?

Im a college graduate looking for a steady job. My resume is in pretty good order except for the fact that I cannot really describe my last waitressing job. How do I make this sound professional? I would definitely like to include it because I feel it is important to prove you have been working rather than being unemployed. Please help. Thanks.

I had this same problem. What I found is saying everything you do but in Business terms. Cash handling, costumer service and human resource responsibilities, multitasking and time management and team player. You use many skills when you work with multiple people, the mass public and money! Good luck!

You would be very surprised at the number of skills which transition from wait staff to receptionist. Transition your resume in such a way that you highlight your abilities to speak effectively and work efficiently while making each client feel as if they are the only one in mind; also be sure to show that your ability to solve problems and deal with diversified situations with little direction is unprecendented. Your cover letter will be very helpful as well and be sure to follow up the interview with a great thank you letter. I can't tell you how many do NOT write a thank you letter and the one that does ALWAYS makes a great impression. If you need more assistance do not hesitate to call upon me.
