I had a tooth extracted 4hrs ago and have ?
The site where the tooth was extracted is still bleeding so I am still using gauze. How long does it normally bleed for? I am starting to get light headed from not eating, so can I eat on the opposite side of my mouth even if I still have gauze in?
I am light headed because all I had to eat today is a ham sandwich. I don't eat full meals like some people.

You need to worry about dry socket if you had a tooth removed, and the bleeding can last for quite awhile. Make sure you are lying down and that you keep changing the gauze. You shouldn't be light headed from just 4 hours without food unless you have blood sugar problems. Try to go without eating until your blood starts to clot around the area. Even then, no chewing anything for at least the first day.
Hope that helps!

i had my wisdom teeth extracted last week and they told me to just leave the gauze on for 35 minutes and then change it out. I had the gauze on for an hour and half total and i never put back in. I wasnt bleeding afterwards anyways and it was still hard to eat. but anyways my point is that i think youve had the gauze on for way too long. as long as the bleeding has stopped you should be ready to eat, but soft foods of course
