  • It really depends on the path u r planning to go ahead with...

Now if u want to be a network admin that supports linux networks u could go in for Red hat (linux),

but in such a case ur knowledge on cisco would be limited to CCNA(unless u pursue RHCE as well as CCNP)... I would believe a CCNA with a RHCE is a great combination bcos u could get a role of both system as well as network admin...

I do not see how doin an oracle DBA would help bcos its not related to the field u r in... If u want to do it just as an added certification, then well and good.. but in the long run oracle and CCNA/RHCE wouldn't go well together...

All in all, CCNP and LINUX together make a great force if u could manage to get hold of both of these prestigious certificates... LINUX is taking over windows server environments, and Cisco is still the leader in networking devices and solutions...

All the very best to you!!..

It depends on what you want to do and where you want to go with your career. If you're just thinking about networking in general, then CCNA. This will give you knowledge behind the necessary networking and network communications that go on behind the scenes of the Internet, corp networks and ISPs. If you want to work with Microsoft servers, then MCSE. You will learn to do everything the Microsoft way, which is very valid and valuable in most places. However, the networking aspect isn't as in-depth as the CCNA cert.
