Will these tires and rims fit my car?
I am looking at buying 205-55-R16 size tires/wheels. I have a 2002 honda civic ex which the stock tire size on it is 185-65-R15.. Will these fit my car? Thanks for any answers.
i would be getting the rims with the tires on them im just worried about them like rubbing against my car because they are too big or the front of them coming out further then my car and looking dumb? what is the offset..
Hey again, I guess I will just go to a rim shop and they should set me up with a good size for my car. Haha they were too expensive anyway. Thanks for all of your answers though!! :]

Hi Alicia. MarkF gave a good reply. Along with brakes, tires are vital safety concern. Be safe, sane, and practical. About offset, picture a dinner plate that lies close to a table surface as compared to a plate that is "dished" and the edge is higher above the table. Offset is the difference between the two. More offset makes the tire and wheel stick out further. It helps in performance cars but otherwise it's mostly cosmetic, just for looks. In most states it's illegal to have the tires protruding out further than the fenders or body. Take your car and talk to someone like MarkF. Peace.

Nobody can answer that without knowing the rims offset. There's a lot more to fitting tires and rims than just size.A rims offset is critical to fitting on a car.Besides possibly not fitting the wrong offset can cause other problems like wheel bearing failure. You should call a tire and wheel dealer to find out exactly what will fit your car and what won't.No offense but it's a mistake to spend money on rims and tires without doing some research first.Hopefully your not about to learn a costly lesson.

Tire sizes are expressed in the format WWW/AAXDD. WWW is the tire’s section width, measured in millimeters. AA is the aspect ratio or profile of the tire, which expresses the tire’s height as a percentage of its width. X is a letter indicating the tire’s internal construction. DD is the diameter in inches of the wheel that the tire is intended to be mounted on.
The most important number to concerned about is the size of the tire compared to the size of the rim you want it on. 16 inch tires will not fit on a 15 inch rim. You need to buy rims that will fit both the tire diameter as well as depth of the tire and the bolt pattern of the car which I believe is 4x100. Make sure the offset is correct too.

They *should* fit your car. They would be 2cm wider and .4 inches taller. Though they are more expensive... 195/55R16 would be a safer bet, as it would only be 1cm wider.
As another poster suggested P205/50R16 would work too. They are more reasonably priced, but they are going to be .5 inches smaller than your current tires, for a difference of about 2% overall diameter.
Make sure to test 1 tire/wheel on the car before mounting the rest. A mounted tire is a used tire.
also, I suggest checking out http://www.tirebuyer.com/ as it could save you a lot on shipping and they work with the tire shops (including mine), not against them like tire rack.

You people are dumb. The factory size is 185/65R15 so 195/55R16 is the CLOSEST accurate speedometer reading in 16"! If you're in the automotive industry, find another job. LMAO

Those "205" tyres are bigger than "185" ones 0,295cm in radius. That's less than 1%. So, they will perfectly fit. The other thing is width of the tyre considering friction, load of the engine, fuel consumption... It will be increased slightly.
By the way, don't worry about rubbing when you turn the wheels. There's more than enough room there.

no they will rub sorry. and you don't want to be 'sorry' ,lol. when you turn the wider tire will make contact destroying what you think may due. the depth of the rims required and the tire size is too much without major modification.

IT would work but that's the wrong size tire to use if the original size was P185/65R15 86H. You should use P205/50R16 86H which has an overall diameter that more closely matches the original tires.

YES IT WELL WORK AS LONG AS IT IS 4-100 Bolt Pattern
